Advantage Data Systems Ushers Mid Ohio Oncology/Hematology into Paperless Frontier

June 20, 2007 – The Mark H. Zangmeister Center, a new full service cancer care facility established by Mid Ohio Oncology/Hematology (MOOH), has opened in Columbus, Ohio. The center is the first of its kind in the state, delivering progressive cancer treatment to more than 16,000 patients annually.

With the help of Advantage Data Systems, the Zangmeister Center will begin operations with ease and efficiency, thanks to well-organized medical charts and records that are compliant and secure.  Mid Ohio Oncology/Hematology was able to digitize their paper charts and file them electronically in Cabinet NG, the secure document management software provided by ADS. 

The Challenge:  One Brand New Location; Thousands of Paper Medical Charts

Mid Ohio Oncology/Hematology was searching for a solution to efficiently store and access thousands of patient medical files. Converging from four separate Columbus locations into the new, centralized Zangmeister Center, made it the perfect time to go paperless.

The Solution: Automated Electronic Document Management

Mid Ohio Oncology/Hematology consulted the services of Advantage Data Systems in Chillicothe, Ohio for their electronic document management needs.  ADS was able to provide a quality paperless solution in Cabinet NG, allowing medical charts to be scanned into the system using high speed scanners, providing easy access from any computer linked to the network.  Cabinet NG also administers user rights, so only authorized personnel can gain access to private patient files. 

Patient information including progress notes, images, prescriptions, insurance information, explanation of benefits, and other medical records are saved and filed in an electronic chart. Cabinet NG’s user-friendly interface means that staff and physicians will come up to speed quickly, and thanks to a secure network design, any user in the office can enjoy the benefits of the system. Nurses, receptionists, support staff, and doctors can accomplish more with less effort.
